Dabi Babubhai Phulabai

“My name is Dabi Babubhai Phulabai, and I am a smallholder cotton farmer from Sodoshi village. For years, after harvesting cotton, we used to burn the leftover cotton plants because we believed they were just waste. That was the normal practice in our village.

Then the team from KrishE visited us and asked what we did with the crop residue after harvest. When I told them we burned it, they explained that it could actually be converted into organic manure instead. They showed us simple ways to process agricultural waste and turn it into compost for the soil.

Since then, things have changed for us. We now use much less chemical fertilizer, which has reduced our farming costs. More importantly, our soil has become healthier and more fertile than before. What we once treated as waste has now become something valuable for our farm.”
